HooBit has been nominated for this year's saltwater lure at the largest trade show in the United States.

A nice confirmation for the inventor Georgios Toris from Gävle who also had a dispute about the name with the film company behind "The Lord of the Rings".

For the first time, this year the Best New Product awards, sponsored by Fishing Tackle Retailer was announced on Monday January 6th on the Expo floor. Retailers do the voting, so the New Product Showcase is a true indicator of the products the marketplace values most out of the hundreds entered. The show is the biggest trade show of its kind with almost 1000 exhibiting companies.

Big Rock Sports carries over 190,000 product SKUs and services to more than 15,000 fishing, shooting, camping, taxidermy and marine retailers across the US, Canada, the Caribbean and eight other countries. Big Rock is one of the largest outdoor sporting goods distributors in North America.

The HOBBIT registration was trigger-less in the fight against HOOBIT

When the TTAB (Trademark Trial and Appeal Board) or "Patent and Market Court" (PMD) decided the case, it was pointed out to the law change on January 1, 2019 and that there is now a clearly increased requirement for "actual use in commerce". Therefore, it became a loss for multi-giant The Saul Zaentz Company, when their HOBBIT registration failed to function in the attempt to cancel the HOOBIT registration owned by a private person in Gävle.

The United States is on the hook - now there is going to be Lures from Gävle: "Incredible, the Americans expressed"
